A lot easier to use than a cable lock. Shells can still be in the ready after removing.

Just received by new Breechvault lock today. I own a Remington 870 express. I originally ordered this lock due to the fact that I have small children in the home. I needed security, but still wanted a way to have my gun quickly ready at night.
Assembly for my particular gun was very easy and straight forward with the directions supplied. Once I went to put the Breechvault in my gun however, I noticed an extreme amount of force is needed to turn the key and get it to lock in place. So much so, I thought I was going to break the key off. This may have it''s benefits but I bought this with the hope that my wife would be able to access the weapon in an emergency as well. Without a larger key ]or possibly tee handle on the key[ this is just not going to happen, at least not quickly.
Additionally, the lock comes with felt to prevent marring but instructions tell you to place it only in one spot it still left marks in others.
In short, this seems to be a very secure locking device...almost too secure for it''s intended purpose. Hope this helps.
