walther SP22-M3

This pistol does have alot of potential but there is several things that I feel should be corrected. The trigger is absolutley horrible and the manual doesn't show pictures that match the firearm. If you adjust the takeup screw to remove the ton of creep in the trigger, it will not allow the safety to function! The sear engagement adjustment seems to show no difference in trigger pull weight, according to my scale. Not having takeup adjustment, the other way to limit overall trigger movement would be to adjust overtravel. This does not work even though the sear adjustment is inside it, the trigger will just not function. Feeding seems to be difficult for the M3 also, this could parcially be because the antidrop mechanism for the mag shoves it offcenter in the frame. Such a high-end .22 pistol should at least cycle and feed flawlessly, so much for german engineering! The bad thing is after the pistol fell apart while shooting it at the range, it only took about an hour for a bunch of non-engineers to solve most of the shortfalls of this pistol. This is a bad design that was not well thought out and very cheaply manufactured for the money it costs. The cool look is all this pistol has out of the box, but with some american enginuity it can be made to function reliably. Accuracy is a joke and my ruger MK III 22/45 shoots rings around the SP and for less money! But it looks neat! Unless you like tinkering and making stuff work, SAVE YOUR MONEY LOOKS ARE NOT EVERYTHING!

trigger

out of the box the trigger is terrible. way too much travel. the book that comes with the pistol shows three different trigger adjustments that the owner can make. the problem is that the pictures of the adjustment points don't look anything like the sp22 that accompanied the book.

Walther SP22

This pistol has a lot of potential. The trigger is the main drawback. It has a hugh amount of travel and will fire when it reaches the very back of the trigger guard. By that time it has arced as to be pulling on the bottom of the trigger. Shooting more than one mag will make one's trigger finger sore. I hope Walther comes up with a fix for this quickly. I think I would enjoy it if the trigger was not horriblem.
